What is vUWS?

The UWS e-learning environment is known as 'virtual UWS' or vUWS to students and staff, and almost 100% of units have a vUWS presence.

If you are enrolled in one of the following units please access your vUWS site via the ***Learn 9 Pilot Access*** link under Campus Bookmarks after you have logged in:

Answers to common enquiries about vUWS, instruction guides and interactive viewlets are available from within the E-Learning Student Support site. All students have access to this site once you have logged into vUWS.

Navigating in vUWS

Enter your MyUWSAccount
and Password to login
Access is provided to you for the official business of the University for which you have authorisation and your use must comply with the IT Acceptable Use of Resources Policy and other relevant UWS policies.


If you haven't already done so, please activate your MyUWSAccount. If you have, and are still having problems, check that your password hasn't expired, reset it if you need to at Manage MyUWSAccount.

If you are not a permanent staff member and require access to UWS IT services and authenticated UWS web sites, please ask your supervisor to complete a UWS UserID and Services Request.

Before logging in, it is recommended that you perform a browser check to see if your computer is properly configured to use vUWS.

After logging in to vUWS, you will be prompted to accept a Java Security Certificate. You must click on the 'Run' button and add a tick in the box to the left of 'Always allow content from this publisher' to ensure that vUWS functionality using Java will work properly in your browser.


The E-Learning Service Desk is open from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.30am to 3.00pm on Fridays. All vUWS enquiries submitted will be actioned during operating hours.
